The following organisations are members of

The Summer Camps Trust

The Summer Camps Trust is delighted to welcome FIVE new subscribing members who have joined us in the last few months.

  •  Black2Nature, run by one of our Trustees, Mya-Rose (Birdgirl) Craig, runs a series of camps aimed at getting more children from minority ethnic backgrounds into the countryside.

  •  Porthpean Outdoor Education, based at St. Austell in Cornwall, will be running their first programme of residential summer camps this year. The Summer Camps Trust has helped them prepare for this.

  • UK Youth is a large charity working across to UK, as a sector-supporting infrastructure body, a direct delivery partner, and a campaigner for social change. With a network of more than 8,000 youth organisations and nation partners, UK Youth focuses on youth work as the catalyst of change for young people. The Summer Camps Trust is delighted UK Youth is now planning to start running residential summer camps, and is helping to get this off the ground.

  • VbDC runs Volleyball Development Camps, very much along the lines of American summer camps.

  • The Woodcraft Folk has been running programmes of residential summer camps, mainly under canvas, for more than fifty years. They have signed up as subscribing members to support the work of The Summer Camps Trust.

We are delighted to have these new members on board supporting our aim to build a proper summer camps sector in the UK, with many more UK-based children and young adult volunteers taking part.
